HUBUNGAN POLA ASUH ORANG TUA DENGAN KESIAPAN TOILET TRAINING PADA ANAK USIA TODDLER DI KALIRANDU BANGUNJIWO KASIHAN YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background: One of the tasks of child development at toddler age is toilet
training. Toilet training is a process of teaching the child to control urination and
defecate properly and regularly. Preparedness of toilet training in toddler-age
children is not only influenced by physical, psychological, mental, and parental
readiness but may also be influenced by parenting patterns applied to children.
Parenting patterns of parents there are three kinds of authoritarian, permissive,
and democratic.
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship of parenting parents with
the preparation of toilet training in children aged toddler in Kalirandu Bangunjiwo
Bantul Bantul Yogyakarta.
Method: This research is a non-experimental research with correlational design
through cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were 44 respondents
with sampling through purposive sampling technique. The statistical test uses chisquare
with a = 0.05.
Results: This study shows that most parents apply democratic parenting pattern as
many as 30 respondents (68.2%) with toilet training preparedness of 22
respondents (73.3%). Correlation using chi-square test obtained result p value =
0,040.
Conclusion: Based on the data analysis, the significant value p = 0,040 <0,05
which means there is relationship of parenting pattern with the preparation of
toilet training for children aged toddler in Kalirandu Bangunjiwo Kasihan Bantul
Yogyakarta.
