HUBUNGAN ANTARA KECERDASAN INTERPERSONAL DENGAN SIKAP TOLERANSI BERAGAMA PADA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X SMA NEGERI 3 YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Interpersonal intelligence is one’s ability to build relation and to
understand others’ feelings in order to create mutual relationship between one and
another so that harmony could take place. Such ability is important because
human are basically social beings, they need mutual assistances. This survey
research aims to: 1) analyze the interpersonal intelligence of the students in SMA
3 Negeri Yogyakarta; 2) analyze the religious tolerance attitude of the students in
SMA 3 Negeri Yogyakarta; 3) analyze the correlation between the interpersonal
intelligence and religious tolerance attitude of the Grade X Students in SMA
Negeri 3 Yogyakarta.
The method used in this research was quantitative approach with
correlational model. The number of the population was 225 students. The
sampling technique was cluster random sampling by eliciting 4 heterogeneous
classes (classes in which there were students with various religions) out of the
total 7 classes in the research location. The total sample obtained was 128, but due
to technical problem, there were only 105 distributed questionnaires. The data
analysis technique used was Product Moment Correlation analysis supported by
SPSS Version 22 for Windows.
The research result shows that: 1) the grade X students of SMA 3
Yogyakarta’s interpersonal intelligences are categorized as high, involving 64
respondents (61%); 2) the grade X students of SMA 3 Yogyakarta’s religious
tolerance attitudes are categorized as high, including 104 respondents (99%);
there is a correlation between the interpersonal intelligence and religious tolerance
attitude of the grade X students in SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta, with significance
value 0,000 and correlation coefficient value 0,409.
