PERBANDINGAN TINGKAT STRES REMAJA LAKI-LAKI DAN PEREMPUAN DI MA AL-MA’HAD AN NUR
Abstract
Background: Adolescence is a transition period characterized by conflict and mood changes that are vulnerable to stress. The stress experienced by male and female adolescents are caused by the same things, but female adolescents tend to feel stressed more easily than male adolescents. Male adolescents experience stress at 28.8% while female adolescents experience stress at 41.0%.
Research Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the differences of male and female adolescents stress levels in MA Al-Ma'had An-Nur.
Research Methods: Methods of the research uses comparative design. The subjects of this study were 288 teenage students at the MA Al-Ma’had An-Nur consisting 144 male students and 144 female students. Data collection were carried out by providing the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS 42) questionnaire. Data analysis using the Mann Whitney U Test.
Results: The results showed that the respondents were male (50%) and female (50%), most of respondents were 16 years old (33.7%), Class X (43.1%), no has violation points (47.2%) and participated in 1 type of extracurricular (49.7%). Bivariate analysis shows that there are significant differences between male and female stress levels at MA Al-Ma'had An-Nur.
Conclusion: Most stress levels in adolescents are in the normal category, but in adolescents who experience stress, female adolescents have higher stress levels than male adolescents. Adolescents were expected to improve their adaptability for the confront of stressors so that the stress levels they have can be in the normal category.
