PERSEPSI DAN TINGKAT KEPUASAN MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI ILMU KEPERAWATAN (PSIK) UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA TERHADAP PEMBELAJARAN TERKAIT BEKAM (HIJAMAH)
Abstract
Background: One of the relatively popular complementary and alternative medical treatments is cupping therapy (Hijamah). It is a Thibbun Nabawi (Prophet’s medical treatment). Cupping therapy is used and classified as an alternative treatment and gaining popularity throughout the world. Among the reasons people try this treatment are to improve their health, such as by removing dirty blood to eliminate disease practically and affordably, reduce the side effect of chemical medicine, and the treatment’s efficacy and suitability. Despite those various advantages, public’s perception and level of satisfaction toward this treatment tend to be negative.
Research Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify UMY PSIK students’ perceptions and level of satisfaction on the learning of cupping treatment..
Research Method: This research is descriptive non-experimental quantitative. The subjects were 85 PSIK students of 2018/2019 academic year (class of 2015), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The data were collected through ordinal scale questionnaire and analyzed using univariate technique.
Results: With the majority of the respondents were female students aged 22 years old, the results showed that the perceptions and levels of satisfaction of cupping-related learning are in the moderate and satisfied categories.
