HUBUNGAN TINGKAT AKTIVITAS FISIK DENGAN SIKLUS MENSTRUASI PADA MAHASISWI
Abstract
Background: Regular menstrual cycles in women are 24-35 days. One of the menstrual cycle irregularities is influenced by heavy physical activity. This is related to students who carry out physical activity with heavy intensity regardless of the length and pattern of the menstrual cycle and the type, duration, and frequency of physical activity must also be a concern because it can affect the menstrual cycle.
Research Purposes: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between level of physical activity with the menstrual cycle of students.
Research Method: The data collection technique used the total sampling method. The type of research was observational analytic and cross-sectional research design. The study sample consisted of 89 students aged 19-25 years. The research instrument used the IPAQ questionnaire and menstrual calendar. The statistic test used is the correlation of Person Chi-square input with an interpretation of the value of the likelihood ratio.
Results: The results of this study showed that the correlation between level of physical activity with the menstrual cycle of students obtained the value of likelihood ratio Asimp.Sig = 0.828 > p = 0.05.
Conclusion: There is no relationship between the level of physical activity with the menstrual cycle in students, it can also be interpreted that the level of physical activity does not have the coherence with the menstrual cycle experienced by a woman.
