dc.description | Studi ini membahas tentang representasi keminoritasan penyandang disabilitas netra di Indonesia yang direpresentasikan lewat media film dokumenter yaitu Film The Unseen Words. Dalam keseharian sebenarnya masyarakat Indonesia paham kaum penyandang disabilitas ada di sekeliling mereka. Persoalannya, pengetahuan tersebut tidak berkembang menjadi sebuah kesadaran. Secara sederhana, kesadaran akan penyandang disabilitas adalah sebuah pandangan yang melihat bahwa kaum penyandang disabilitas pada dasarnya adalah manusia yang sama dengan manusia lainnya atau setara. Namun, kenyataan penyandang disabilitas masih jauh dari kata kesetaraan bahkan mereka menjadi objek keterasingan dan tindak diskriminasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan representasi keminoritasan yang dialami kelompok disabilitas netra dalam film dokumenter The Unseen Words. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis semiotika dengan pendekatan Roland Barthes. Setelah dilakukan analisis data, maka penelitian ini menemukan beberapa hasil sebagai berikut: representasi keminoritasan penyandang disabilitas netra di film The Unseen Words digambarkan hidup di lingkaran kemiskinan, representasi keminoritasan penyandang disabilitas netra digambarkan sebagai objek diskriminasi, representasi keminoritasan penyandang disabilitas netra digambarkan sebagai objek yang tidak diperhatikan dalam aksesibilitas dan pelayanan publik, dan temuan terakhir yang penulis temukan adalah representasi penyandang disabilitas netra digambarkan sebagai simbol penderitaan. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | This study explains about a minority representation of people with blind disability in Indonesia by using a documentary movie entitled ‘The Unseen Words'. Actually, Indonesian people already understood about these group of people with disability who lived around them in daily activities. The problem is their knowledge does not develop become an awareness. Simply, the awareness of the disabled people is a view which understood that basically, these disable people are including the people who have the same equality with others. However, in reality, these disability people are still far from equality even they became objects of alienation and discrimination. The method used to analyze this movie was semiotic analysis with Roland Barthes approach. After analyzing the data, this study found some results as follows: Firstly, the minority representation of people with blind disability in The Unseen Words movie was portrayed as the people who lived in the circle of poverty and alienation, secondly, the minority representation of these blind people was portrayed as a discrimination object, thirdly the minority representation of these blind people was portrayed as objects who were not concerned about accessibility and public services, and lastly, the minority representation of these blind people was also portrayed as a symbol of suffering. | en_US |
