HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU DENGAN SIKAP IBU PADA PENANGANAN PERTAMA DEMAM PADA ANAK DI PADUKUHAN GEBLAGAN, TAMANTIRTO, KASIHAN, BANTUL, YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Fever is the common problem that happens in school-age children (5-11 years) related to viral infections such as coughs, colds, sore throat, common cold (common cold) and diarrhea. Fever can interfere learning process of children, moderate to severe dehydration, neurological damage, febrile convulsions and even death. The first treatment for fever in children may include febrifuge, increase water consumption, lots of rest, shower with warm water, and giving compress. Fever management in children rely on the mother's role. Mothers who have knowledge about fever managmenet and have a good attitude in providing care can determine the best management for the children.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between level of knowledge with mother attitude in the first fever treatment to children in Padukuhan Geblagan RT 01-RT 07 Tamantirto Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta.
Methods: This study was quantitative with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in April - May 2016. The sample in this study were 54 mothers who have children aged 5 until 11 years and experienced fever which taken with stratified random sampling technique. Data was collected using questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using Spearman rank test with significance level α=0,05.
Result: The result showed p = 0,01 with significance level α=0,05 (5%) so that p value < α (0,05).
Conclusion: There are significant relationship between the knowledge of the mother with mother attitude in the first fever treatment to children in Padukuhan Geblagan RT 01-RT 07 Tamantirto Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta
