dc.description.abstract | Self-awareness is an individual awareness level to prevent diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the description of self-awareness of diabetes mellitus on employees of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This research type is non experiment with quantitative method and uses descriptive design to see the self-awareness of diabetes mellitus on employees of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This reasearch was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The population in this research are active employees on the period of 2015/2016 Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta with total sample of 126 respondents. The sampling technique is with purposive sampling. Data analysis used univariate analysis of frequencies and crosstabs. The research instrument used self-awareness of diabetes mellitus questionnaire.
The results showed that the majority of respondents have moderate self-awareness (61,1%). The majority of self-awareness is based on the age of respondent of medium category in early age group (17,5%). Self-awareness of diabetes mellitus base on gender of respondent of moderate category is on male respondnet (46,0%). The self-awareness of diabetes mellitus based on the last education of moderate category (38,1%) in respondents who have recent education of undergraduate. Self-awareness of diabetes mellitus based on history of diabetes mellitus on family of moderate category (41,3%) in respondents who did not have history of diabetes mellitus in family. The conclusion of this research is self-awareness of diabetes mellitus on employees of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is in medium category | en_US |
