PENGGUNAAN PENDEKATAN NARITACHI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN KANJI
Abstract
This research was conducted to find out the use of Naritachi approach in learning Kanji. The purposes of this research were to know the correlation between the meaning of Kanji and the origin or the formation, to know the use of Naritachi approach in learning Kanji, and to know the advantages and disadvantages of the use of Naritachi approach in learning Kanji.
The methodology used was mix method between quantitative and qualitative. The sample of this research was the freshman of Japanes Language Education Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in year 2017-2018. The researcher collected the data in shochuukyuu moji goi class in class A with 22 numbers of students. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation, questionnaire, and interview.
Based on the observation, questionnaire, and interview result, it was found that Naritachi correlated with the meaning of Kanji, and most of the students stated that the use of Naritachi approach made the learning of Kanji easy. The reason was only by remembering the history or the origin of Kanji’s formation, the students were able to remember Kanji. Besides, the learning of Kanji which used Naritachi approach was more interesting, increasing creativity and imagination, but in the use of Naritachi, the students faced difficulty in understanding Kanji which had inappropriate Naritachi. Most of the students said that the Naritachi approach was good to be used in learning Kanji.
