dc.description | Teachers in elementary school face diverse students, one of them is misbehaved students. The misbehaved students often do something which are beyond expectations such as disturbing the tranquility of class, and causes the class very chaotic and cannot be controlled again. Therefore, the researcher is very interested in doing the research on how classroom management can help the teacher in handling students’ misbehavior in elementary school. This research aims to identify the difficulties faced by two elementary school teachers in dealing with students’ misbehavior and to find out the strategies they implemented in dealing with students’ misbehavior in elementary school. This research employed descriptive qualitative research design. This research was conducted in two elementary schools in Yogyakarta and two English teachers as the participant. In collecting the data, in-depth interview was used in this study. The finding showed one difficulty faced by the teachers namely, taking control over the students’ misbehavior. The finding also showed five strategies used by the teachers to face students’ misbehavior namely, making a class agreement, giving reward and punishment, creating an exciting class, asking for help from a respected figure and focusing more on the well-behaved students rather than the misbehaved one. | en_US |
