Information of Technology Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta have a problem in managing the payroll data. Currently the payroll data are managed manually by the admin. To help that, a system have to develop. However, before make a system the design is needed. The design is made for give the user information about the real system. This research aim to design the user interface of payroll website so the design hopefully to help understand the process attandence and payroll. In designing the interface of the websites use research 8 golden rules of design method, because the method has the basic point for designing a good user interface, so users can learn the design of the website more quickly. To test the inplementation of 8 golden rules of interface design on the payroll website design, this testing is carried out by asking respondents to try the design, after that respondents were asked to fill out the questionnaire. The result can be proven with validation and reliability testing on the questionnaire. Although there is one question that is not valid during SPSS analisys during validate and reliability testing, but it could be concluded that the design has the implemented 8 golden rules of design.
