PROPAGANDA KEKERASAN DALAM FILM “THE BOSS BABY” MENURUT PERSPEKTIF AGAMA ISLAM
Abstract
Film is an interesting and awaited communication medium for both children and adults.
The film is able to shape people's perception of the meaning to be conveyed by the film.
The function of film as a means of information, education and entertainment can contain
signs (messages) by showing other hidden meanings. The film "The Boss Baby" is a
children's cartoon animated film that its sequel has been awaited. In the scene, the film
"The Boss Baby" shows scenes of physical violence (non-verbal) and verbal violence
(using words). The research purpose is to find out the propaganda of violence in the film
and explain Islamic views related to it. This study uses a qualitative approach through
data collection in the form of literacy, documentation, and observation. Data analysis
used is a semiotic analysis by studying the signs contained in the film. The results showed
that there were forms of violence in the movie "The Boss Baby" i.e. hitting, slapping,
slamming, kicking, fighting, disrespectful to parents, ordered rudely, hurting human or
animal bodies, biting, angry , mocking, insulting, cursing, lying, blaming others, sporting
Jousting and non-positive facial expressions such as annoyance, hate, prejudice and
arrogance. While messages of violent propaganda through ideological beliefs such as the
Illuminati, Puritan, LGBT, and the story of Hansel and Gretel were also found in the film.
Islamic law does not condone all forms of violence against a person. Violence in any form
and committed against anyone is an action that is contrary to the values contained in
Islam. From the beginning, Islam also paid great attention to the liberation of women and
children from various acts of violence that occurred and always taught to be gentle and
loving towards others. Thus, all acts of violence are actions that are not in accordance
with Islamic Sharia law.
