PENGARUH KINERJA KEUANGAN PERUSAHAAN DAN MEKANISME CORPORATE GOVERNANCE TERHADAP KOMPENSASI TIM MANAJEMEN PUNCAK
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of corporate financial
performance and corporate governance mechanisms on compensation of top
management teams by using company size as a control variable. Financial
performance used is profitability and asset growth. The corporate governance
mechanism used is the proportion of independent commissioners and institutional
ownership.
The type of data in this study is secondary data with a sampling technique
that is purposive sampling. The research sample is all companies listed on the
Stock Exchange for the period 2016-2017 (152 observations). The results of the
study show that the company's performance when measured by Return on Asset
has a positive effect on compensation of the top management team. However,
when financial performance is measured by the growth of the resulting asset it
shows did not affect the compensation of the top management team. The
proportion of independent commissioners and institutional ownership did not
affect the compensation of the top management team. Company size control
variables have a significant positive effect on compensation of the top
management team.
